Places I'd Take You To in UK

A country made up of countries, United Kingdom is a huge place indeed. I have been walking the streets and alleyways of different places here in UK but I still have that first time feeling whenever I go from places to places. Like a frosh’s first day in college; I still get lost, feel timorous and at the same time thrilled when I venture my second home.

For the past three years, my family and I had been to different towns and cities around (and outside) Kent during some of our family day trips. Some even made it into my ‘favorite places to visit’ list.

I live close to this city and I spend almost all of my salary going to this place. Although the town area is small, it is still magnificent and relatively historical. You will also find one of the oldest and most famous Christian structures of England, The Canterbury Cathedral. The city is not only well known as a cathedral city but also a city that lies on River Stour. You’ll find various kinds of store, restaurant and activities such as punting along the river, feeding the ducks, walking at their nature friendly parks or visit the Cathedral itself. It only takes 45 minutes by bus from our place, which is very swift for people who don’t like to travel far.

This is the first place I fell in love with when I first came here. It’s a quite town that can be found at the Southeastern part of Kent. A stony beach dominated by seagulls during the summer. The horizon is picturesque especially during sunset. It is filled with Victorian houses and seaside restaurants such as fish and chip bars, ice cream parlors and cafés. A great place to relax and unwind with loved ones or even on your own. Usually, during the summer, the beach is quite famous for having a BBQ with the family.

I admit I am a shopaholic. I like buying clothes, shoes, jewelries and the like. So, one of my favorite place that I’d like to visit and take you would be Westwood Cross in Margate. It’s remarkably wide and you can find a lot of stores in the town. Almost everything. From high street fashion, arts & craft stores and even toys for the kiddies. Westwood has a lot to offer! Not only that, it also has a variety of scrumptious restaurant that’s accessible when you feel a bit hungry after shopping. The area is far off the town, which makes the place less crowded and much relaxing to shop. The only downside of this place is it’s a bit far from where we live, a 2-hour max by bus.

I’m a little doubtful whether I should explain or not why I love to visit this city. I mean hey, who wouldn’t know London? It is one of the famous and popular places that every person would like to come and visit. Most commonly known as the capital city of UK. A fashion forward, historical and romantic city combined, which makes this as one of the place I would take special people in my life! There is lot of surprises in every alley and not to mention lovely attractions in the middle of the city. You can do absolutely a lot of things like a relaxing picnic in Green Park, witness changing of guards at the Buckingham Palace, a boat ride along the river and even see the entire London by riding the eye. Although it’s an hour and 45 minutes via train away from ours, I think it’s always worth the time. Note that the city doesn’t comes in cheap, so you need to bring quite an amount to really enjoy some of the things.
