Here in America, you have thousands of choices to choose from. This is probably the explanation why Americans, and I, can't stop munching food here and there. However, most of the foods we eat here were adopted, or should I say originated, from other countries. One reason why America is called the "melting pot" because people of different ancestries and cultires came overseas to live here .Also, it's not similar to the Philippines wherein we make numerous viands and just pair it with rice. Bam, you have your main course. Although this is the case, there are still foods that we could still call as the country's own like the ones listed below:
HAMBURGERS
Hamburgers are probably one of the most famous food not only here in America, but also throughout the entire world. If I'm not mistaken, every person must have at least tasted one. There may be a variety of combinations, but burgers often come with a patty, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and of course the buns. And it's not really the complete package without the condiments like ketchup, mayonnaise, or mustard. However, out of all the burgers that I have come across, probably the one that stood out the most, so far, for me is In-N-Out burgers. I don't know why, but the taste is exceptional. The ingredients are indeed very fresh, and I'm sure if you have tasted it, you would come back for more.

S'MORES
S'mores origin has not really been agreed upon. But one thing's for sure, it's name was derived from the phrase "some more". Who wouldn't agree with that? This snack or dessert is basically made up marshmallows and chocolate sandwiched between graham crackers. It is usually eaten during campfires wherein you also assemble them yourselves. There may be some who wouldn't find it appetizing, but trust me, it is.

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH ICE CREAM
Just from the name of the food itself, it's a mixture of unbaked cookie dough and ice cream. Actually, cookie alone originated from America. It was accidentally made by Ruth Graves Wakefield. Eureka moment, I must say. In addition, this flavor of dessert is very scrumptious, with the combination of creaminess and the hint of surprise from the chewiness of the unbaked cookie dough.

America's cuisine might mostly come from several countries, greasy, or unhealthy. But admit it, nobody could resist ambrosial food. Most of us would probably say that it doesn't matter where it comes from, as long as it's pleasing to us. Yet for me, I still live with Filipino cuisine, extraordinary.
